I noticed, while searching for an respond to this, that you are both correct. Information technology is not listed on the Play Anywhere folio, only is listed in the shop as Play Anywhere. I'thou going to try and see if I can get an answer from MS/Xbox on Twitter. I'll direct them here, and maybe they'll answer for all of us.

I've tried contacting Subnautica and Xbox on twitter with no response, at that place are posts on the subnautica forums about this with no official responses, and I've submitted "feedback" in both the xbox and windows versions of the game with no responses. Did y'all have any luck?
I tried a couple other "Play anywhere" games on Xbox and Windows, and cloud saves only worked. But the thing I noticed with the other games on Windows is that at that place was an option inside the game to login to my live account. I received an email notification about an app being given permission to access my live.com business relationship info for all of these games - Subnautica, Enter the Gungeon and Super Lucky's Tale. And then I'm certain that some Subnautica saves are in my alive.com cloud account, merely they definitely don't bear witness up cross-platform.
I take recently wondered if the issue is game versions. The latest Xbox version of the game is from February 2019, but the Windows version was only recently updated. Maybe this effect didn't appear until recently when the versions started being different - I read somewhere that the Xbox version of the nearly contempo update is still being adult.

Sadly, no. I tagged Xbox Support, Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft Store, and belatedly Subnautica in my tweet, and non a single person or company said a damned thing. Xbox Back up alone is usually ameliorate most responding than that. I could effort sending one of them a directly message, I suppose... In fact, I remember I will. Maybe I'll try both Subnautica Assist (not sure if information technology'southward official, but it's worth a endeavour) and Xbox Support.
I recollect that you lot're probably correct about the version difference though. Information technology seems that Subnautica: Below Zero is not yet released on consoles, so that could cause some salvage file problems, unless it is a completely separate game, and not a DLC expansion.

They must accept recently removed it from the play anywhere list, because I checked just recently and it was listed. Likewise I bought the game for Xbox and was able to install the game not even a week ago on my PC via the windows store without re buying the game. I have achievements that I unlocked today, Dec 23rd, while playing on PC show upwards on my Xbox contour, every bit it asked me to log into my live account on PC. Also When I effort and play on PC and my Xbox at the same time I become the, "You lot are already playing this game somewhere else" message, so it seems the only affair that seems to non be operation is the salve games being transferred between the 2 platforms which is odd.
